Dr Luke Mooney is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon specialising in hip and knee surgery. He completed his orthopaedic training through the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and undertook subspecialty fellowship training in arthroplasty and sports orthopaedics.
Dr Mooney has a special interest in sports-related knee injuries including ACL reconstruction and patella instability, as well as hip and knee joint replacement for patients with advanced arthritis.
He is particularly experienced in treating younger, active patients who require complex reconstruction to return to sport and work. Dr Mooney uses the latest evidence-based techniques including robotic-assisted surgery where appropriate.
Dr Mooney is actively involved in surgical education and mentoring, and maintains an interest in orthopaedic research.
